The response of patients to antidepressant treatments is characterized by a remarkable heterogeneity between patients regarding the efficacy of this/these treatment(s). Unfortunately, the biological mechanisms that drive such a differential response remain poorly understood.
The Welcome Trust in UK has funded Prof. Lewis with a grant over £4 millions aiming at gaining mechanistic insight into the biological processes that determine the individual response to antidepressant treatment. See the post on social media that Prof. Lewis posted here.
